ZENА HLYNIANY-ART-STUDIO
The private enterprise ZENA-HLYNIANY-ART-STUDIO was founded in 2021 in Lviv, the main task of which was to revive the production of smooth-woven carpets in Hlyniany, a small town near Lviv (Ukraine). The artistic textile industry here arose at the end of the 19th century, thanks to the local priest Filimon Reshetelovych, who founded the Weaving Society in Hlyniany in 1885. The high artistic and technical level of hand-made carpets produced here contributed to their great popularity on the local and world markets. The First World War destroyed the manual industry, which Mykhailo Hamula revived in 1921. He invited outstanding Ukrainian and Polish artists to design carpets, which made possible the rapid development of the enterprise and the great popularity of clay carpets in the world. The project continues to this day and actually enabled the revival of Hlyniany’s carpet making. The company ZENA-HLYNIANY-ART-STUDIO produces a wide range of art fabrics: - hand-made smooth-woven carpets based on the samples of outstanding artists of the past and present; - paintings by outstanding modern artists; - stage Ukrainian ethnographic costumes; - modern holiday and wedding outfits in ethnic style.
